Canton of Grisons

The Canton of the Grisons or the Canton of Graubünden is one of 26 cantons of Switzerland, encompassing both sides of the Alps. In addition to cultural and linguistic diversity, Graubünden consists of 615 lakes, more than 900 mountain tops, and 150 valleys.

The Office for Forests and Natural Hazards is the cantonal agency for forests and protection against natural hazards. It is responsible for enforcing the Forest Act. The employees of the Office for Forests and Natural Hazards are committed to ensuring that the Graubünden forest:

  • Can protect people, animals and infrastructure
  • Is the habitat of diverse animal and plant species,
  • Is a raw material supplier of wood, water, energy and all kinds of edible things,
  • Can continue to be a recreational and leisure space for people.
