Meteorological Service of Catalonia​

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia is responsible for advising the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya so it can carry out adequate planning of the territory, good water management and, more importantly, a good prevention of meteorological phenomena that carry a significant associated danger.

The SMC is a public service, close and accessible, that reaches all the competences of a national meteorological service. The SMC works in the direction of a progressive opening of data to citizens, obtained thanks to infrastructures acquired with public money. The SMCs main values are quality, efficiency, rigor, transparency and to take roots in the country.
