Summary

This December 11th, on International Mountain Day, the Tropical Andes come together for a unique and simultaneous event dedicated to the memory of our glaciers. Join the special screening of the documentary: “Andean Glaciers: Time and Memory”.

Why is it important?

This film is presented within the framework of the International Year of Glacier Conservation (UN) and underscores the profound cultural and emotional impact of the loss of our tropical glaciers. It was premiered on International Day of Action Against Climate Change last October (find out more on the feature at Adaptation at Altitude), and now the five countries of the Tropical Andes get together to further celebrate Andean glaciers and call for actions against their rapid retreat.
