Summary

On International Mountain Day, CONDESAN celebrates the resilience of the Andes with the public launch of the renovated platform InfoAndina (https://infoandina.net), a collaborative content aggregator dedicated to sustainable development in the Andean mountains.

This date, key to recognizing the importance of mountain ecosystems and the lives of their communities, is the ideal time to present a site that seeks to concentrate knowledge and strengthen action in the region.

InfoAndina is much more than a web portal; it is an Andean knowledge hub that responds to a clear community need: to centralize and make more accessible the vast amount of information on sustainable development and climate change adaptation that is currently scattered.

The platform is established as the meeting point where stakeholders can quickly and easily find:

  • News and events of interest.
  • Information on key projects, programs, and institutions.
  • Governance platforms and exchange spaces.
  • Links to repositories of knowledge and experiences.

Sometimes, this information is fragmented, in different languages, or difficult to locate among global initiatives. InfoAndina addresses this challenge by selecting, consolidating, and making readily available the most relevant content for those working for and with mountains.

A Collaborative History Renewed

The history of InfoAndina is intrinsically linked to that of CONDESAN. Originally created in 1995 as a means to facilitate communication among CONDESAN members, it soon became the regional arm of the Mountain Forum, a global network for the sustainable development of mountains.

Since 2006, the platform has expanded its reach to become an open resource for the entire Andean community, strengthening knowledge generation and mutual learning.

In this new phase, InfoAndina reaffirms its collaborative essence and fully embraces its role as the leading Andean Hub. Its wealth lies in the knowledge and experiences circulating in the region, driven by government actors, research centers, NGOs, community organizations, and civil society.

Contribute and Connect

This initiative is designed to be built by and for the Andean community. The philosophy is simple: content proposed by institutions, projects, or programs gains greater visibility and dissemination, without losing traffic to their own websites.

InfoAndina does not duplicate content; it promotes it and links to the original source, acting as a powerful aggregator. Furthermore, its social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) expand this reach and drive traffic to its contributors’ pages.

If you are part of a program, project, or institution and wish to give visibility to your achievements, news, or events, we invite you to join. On the InfoAndina website, you can fill a simple form to express your interest in contributing. Your information is then reviewed and published.
